Charges Filed After Alleged Edwardsville Officer Battery, Domestic Battery Incident

EDWARDSVILLE – Two recent Madison County battery cases include an alleged domestic incident and a northern Illinois man accused of attacking an Edwardsville Police officer.

Brayden M. Galbraith, 20, of Edwardsville, was charged with one count each of aggravated battery (a Class 3 felony) and domestic battery (a Class A misdemeanor) on June 1, 2026.

Galbraith is accused of knowingly causing bodily harm to a family or household member without legal justification on May 31, 2026.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office presented the case against Galbraith, who was ordered remanded to jail for his initial court appearance in this case.

Edwardsville Police charged a northern Illinois man in a separate case of battery against a police officer and more.

Lawrence A. Dickinson of Moline, Ill., was charged on May 26, 2026 with a Class 2 felony count of aggravated battery and one count each of battery and resisting a peace officer, both Class A misdemeanors.

Dickinson is accused of pushing an individual to the ground, striking an Edwardsville Police officer, and resisting arrest from multiple Edwardsville officers by refusing to comply with lawful orders, walking away and pulling his arms away from officers.

Dickson was ordered released from custody pending trial in the case presented by the Edwardsville Police Department.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
