Herrin strikes out nine in Alton Legion win

Bradley Herrin dominated over four scoreless innings, giving Alton the foundation it needed after a productive opening frame against Trenton on Monday.

ALTON — Alton Senior Legion defeated Trenton Senior Legion on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Gordon Moore Park, using an early offensive surge and strong pitching to secure the win.

Alton took control in the bottom of the first inning. Johnny Kunz doubled to left field and Hayden Schepers walked, with each scoring one run to give Alton a 2-0 lead.

Alton added another run in the second inning when Jayce Steinkuehler walked, making it 3-0. Alton extended the lead in the third after Logan Bromaghim laid down a sacrifice bunt and Abe Kribs singled to center field, with each play producing a run.

Bradley Herrin earned the win for Alton. He allowed one hit and no runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking none.

Tate Powell pitched one inning of scoreless relief, allowing one hit while striking out one and walking none.

Jarett Weubbles started for Trenton. He gave up two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one and walking five.

Joe Stephan led Alton at the plate, going 2-for-4. Steinkuehler drew three walks, and Alton finished with nine walks overall.

Trenton, Weubbles and Nolan Langenfeld each had one hit.
