
BETHALTO — Keely Windsor, a 2026 graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, has been named a Tom Lane State Farm Female Athlete of the Month after finishing high school with a 4.270 GPA, helping the Eagles girls basketball team to a 23-8 record in the 2025-2026 season, and earning admission to Illinois College in Jacksonville, where she plans to study elementary education and play women’s basketball.

Windsor, the daughter of Kenny and Helen Windsor of Bethalto, said she plans to become a special education teacher. She also was selected for the Bright Blue program, the honors program at Illinois College, which includes a study abroad trip furnished by the college.
At Civic Memorial, Windsor was active in academics, athletics and service. She volunteered as a basketball coach for kindergarten through fifth grade in the Junior Eagles boys and girls program and also volunteered for Darts for Kids NFP.
She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, where she served as treasurer, Mu Alpha Theta and Tri-M Music Honor Society. She also participated in Spanish Club, Freshmentors, Drama Club and Educators Rising, where she served as event coordinator. In addition, she was a member of the Civic Memorial Marching Band.
Windsor received the Education Pathway endorsement and the Golden Apple Scholarship for future teachers, which requires students to attend a partner school and commit to teaching in a low-income school for the first five years of their career. She also received the Barbara Thompson Lifelong Educators Scholarship, the Bethalto Jaycees Education Scholarship and a scholarship package from Illinois College.
After graduating, Windsor also volunteered in the district’s special education class during the summer to gain additional experience.
Windsor is a first-generation college student.
