
JERSEYVILLE – A woman from Jerseyville facing charges from her latest alleged DUI was also accused of leaving the scene of a single-vehicle accident.

Ashley L. Bridgewater, 39, of Jerseyville, was charged with a Class 4 felony count of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol on June 26, 2026. She also faces two Class A misdemeanor counts of driving on a revoked license and failure to notify upon damaging property.
On June 23, 2026, Bridgewater allegedly drove a motor vehicle in the 400 block of E. Exchange St. in Jerseyville while under the influence of alcohol. At the time of the offense, her driver’s license had been revoked for a prior DUI violation.
On the same date and in the same location, Bridgewater reportedly drove the vehicle into a telephone pole owned by Frontier Internet and an electrical box owned by Grafton Technologies Inc. She is additionally accused of leaving the scene without notifying the property owner or nearest police agency.
Bridgewater was ordered released from custody pending trial in this case. Under the conditions of her release, she has been ordered to submit to random drug and alcohol testing and has been ordered not to leave the State of Illinois without court permission.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
