
PIASA - Vivian Zurheide, a Southwestern High School senior and standout three-sport athlete, was named an Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Female Athlete of the Month for her most recent performances on a softball field.

Zurheide recently concluded her softball career at Southwestern with a .488 batting average, 39 hits, 13 doubles, 31 RBIs and six home runs as a senior for the Piasa Birds. Edwards said Zurheide is “an athlete that won't soon be forgotten at Southwestern High School.”
Edwards described Zurheide as “an outspoken leader” who “gets the crowd rolling.”
She also praised Zurheide’s impact beyond statistics.
"She is a tremendous all-around athlete, a great human being; anybody who gets to know her sees it as a blessing," Coach Edwards said. "She is so full of life."
In addition to softball, Zurheide was a strong guard in basketball and an outside hitter in girls volleyball.
