Municipal Band Season Marks Halfway Point; Still Time to See Summer Concerts

The beloved summer tradition continues in Riverview and Haskell parks, offering family-friendly live music as the season moves beyond its patriotic opening run.

ALTON - The Alton Municipal Band has reached the halfway point of its summer season, after concluding a successful run of patriotic concerts celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The band, which performs every Thursday and Sunday in June and July, will perform three more weeks of concerts in the parks this summer.

On Thursday, July 9th and Sunday, July 12th, Riverbend favorites The Warehouse Project will perform alongside the municipal band at Riverview and at Haskell Parks.

The following week, on the 16th and 19th, Director Bradley Eston leads the band in “All Living Creatures,” with music telling the stories of life on land and sea.

The final week of concerts, led by Director David Drillinger, is titled “Auf Wiedersehen, So Long,” as the band performs for one final time in July.

Alton Municipal Band concerts feature free, family-friendly live music. The band performs on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM, in the gazebo at Riverview Park. Concerts are then repeated the following Sunday, at 7 PM, in front of the historic Lucy Haskell Playhouse at Haskell Park.
