Warm, Humid Weather Brings Heat Index Near 104 Wednesday

Wednesday is expected to stay mostly dry with a high near 91, but humidity will push feels-like temperatures to around 104 before storm chances increase Thursday.

Wednesday starts sunny and quiet, with temperatures in the upper 60s early and light wind out of the north-northeast. It is a calm start, but the air already feels a little muggy. By late morning, sunshine mixes with some clouds as temperatures climb quickly.

Through the afternoon, expect partly sunny skies, humid air and a high near 91. Winds stay light from the northeast at around 6 mph, with gusts near 9 mph. Rain is not likely, with only a small 25% chance. It will feel hotter than the thermometer suggests, with feels like values topping out near 104.

The evening stays warm with a few clouds around as temperatures slowly ease back from the daytime peak. Conditions stay dry, and the light breeze will not do much to cool things down.

Overnight, the low settles near 73 under partly cloudy skies. Humidity hangs on, so it will still feel a bit sticky late into the night. Rain chances remain low, around 12%, and winds turn very light.

There are no watches, warnings or advisories in effect. Allergy levels look low today, with grass, mold, ragweed and tree pollen all in the low range.

Thursday looks a little more unsettled, with a high near 89 and a low near 72. Expect a humid day with a better chance for an afternoon thunderstorm, and one storm could be heavy.
