Spencer Homes Female Athlete Of The Month For Tigers: Girls Softball Player Lily Stone To Continue Athletic Career At Wabash Valley

EDWARDSVILLE - Edwardsville High School senior Lily Stone signed in mid-April, 2026, to play softball at Wabash Valley College, marking the next step for a versatile player who has been a key contributor for the Tigers on the field.

Lily is a Spencer Homes Female Athlete of the Month for the Tigers.

Stone, an infielder and outfielder, hit .383 with 41 hits during the 2026 season and has provided steady offense over her sophomore and junior seasons, totaling four doubles, one triple, three home runs and 14 RBIs. Her recent stretch at the plate has drawn attention, including two home runs in as many days and five hits in a doubleheader sweep of Quincy.

"I feel like just not thinking a lot, taking deep breaths before I swing, I definitely don't try to overthink it, and I know a lot of people on the team don't really that really like this pitch or that pitch," Stone said. "Anything close, I'm like, let's do it."

Stone’s ability to play both the infield and outfield, along with her speed, power and understanding of the game, has made her a valuable presence for Edwardsville. The program described her as a highly versatile athlete whose work ethic and competitive nature help set her apart.

The school also said Stone’s best softball is still ahead of her as she prepares for her senior year and continues her academic and athletic career at Wabash Valley College.
