Dr. Ahmad Karadaghy Earns 2025 Alton Memorial Chairman's Award

ALTON - Alton Memorial Hospital announced that Dr. Ahmad Karadaghy is the recipient of the 2025 Alton Memorial Hospital Chairman’s Award, recognizing his commitment to the hospital’s mission, vision and values through patient care, involvement in the hospital and service.

The hospital said Dr. Karadaghy, who began at Alton Memorial Hospital in 2003 by completing his internship before his residency, now cares for patients through BJC Medical Group and serves in several leadership roles. Those roles include service on the Medical Executive Committee and as medical director of the Digestive Health Program.

According to the hospital, the Chairman’s Award honors a physician who demonstrates “an unwavering commitment” to Alton Memorial Hospital’s mission, vision and values through “exceptional patient care, active involvement in the hospital, and dedication to outstanding service.”

The hospital said Dr. Karadaghy helped advance patient care by introducing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, or ERCP, procedures at Alton Memorial Hospital. It also said he has been a leader in the GI Lab for more than two decades.

In its announcement, the hospital said, “Congratulations, Dr. Karadaghy, and thank you for your dedication to our patients, colleagues, and community.”
