Since the jackpot run began on March 20, Illinois Lottery players purchasing Mega Millions tickets have helped generate more than $19 million for the Common School Fund, which supports K–12 public education throughout Illinois.

Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw in which to claim their prize. The Illinois Lottery encourages all lucky winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they’re ready to claim their prize.

Mega Millions is played every Tuesday and Friday night. Tickets are $5 each and include a randomly assigned multiplier that improves all winning non-jackpot prizes by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X.
