Nighttime Ramp Closures At I-64 And Illinois 159 Interchange In St. Clair County Begin Aug. 4

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced nighttime ramp closures at Interstate 64 and Illinois 159 interchange in St. Clair County for ramp maintenance.

The following ramps will be closed during the scheduled overnight hours, weather permitting:

Southbound Illinois 159 to eastbound I-64 ramp

Beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, the ramp will be closed until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5. The ramp will reopen during the day and will close again at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, through 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6.

Northbound Illinois 159 to westbound I-64 ramp

Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, the ramp will be closed to traffic until 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7. The ramp will reopen during the day and will close again at 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, through 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.

All ramps will reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. The closures are part of ongoing improvements in the I-64 corridor.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
