Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Male Athlete Of The Month: Aiden Roberts Emerges As Southwestern Wrestling Bright Spot

PIASA - Aiden Roberts, a Southwestern football and wrestling athlete, made significant improvement during the 2025-26 wrestling season, according to assistant wrestling coach Kimberly Kessinger. She said Aiden shined after developing through a youth wrestling club and continuing a sport shared by his family.

Roberts is one of the bright spots for Southwestern in wrestling for the future after his performances this past season, and his future appears exciting.

Roberts has been an offensive lineman and defensive lineman in football for The Piasa Birds. He also was a varsity wrestler at Southwestern in the 144-pound and 150-pound categories this past year.

Aiden is an Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Male Athlete of the Month for the Piasa Birds.

Kessinger said Roberts’ progress stood out during the season.

“He is figuring all of it out,” Kessinger said.

She said wrestling is a family interest for Roberts.

“He loves wrestling. His dad wrestled, and his two younger sisters also wrestled. It is something the whole family enjoys,” Kessinger said.

Roberts is expected to return for the 2026-27 season. Kessinger said she expects him to continue building on his experience.

“I look for him to still improve and be better and go further in the postseason in the future,” Kessinger said.
