Calvary Baptist Church will host their men’s retreat on Friday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026. This free weekend experience invites men to an evening dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, then a day-long experience starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Participants can enjoy hunting displays, an archery station, a speech from traveling evangelist Bill Britt, plus plenty more.

“Hopefully, it’ll have an impact and just give guys a time to come together, relax a little bit, but also to be able to focus on the Lord and hear some things to help us become better men,” said Brent Snyder with Calvary Baptist Church.

Snyder explained that Calvary Baptist Church hosted a men’s rally last year, which had an impressive turnout. Participants enjoyed studying the Bible and building friendships. Snyder hopes the men’s retreat has a similar effect.

The retreat will include games, meals and other fun activities focused on the gospel, he said. The goal is to provide men with a space to connect and engage with each other and God. Snyder hopes the experience allows participants to strengthen their relationship with God.

He also believes it’s important to provide men with a space that is focused on them. He wants these men to bond and relate to one another.

Not only will the retreat help them grow over that weekend, but Snyder hopes it will reenergize participants in their daily lives as they focus on their faith. This, he believes, will make them better people.

“There aren’t always a lot of events just for men,” he said. “We wanted to make sure that there’s an outlet for us to just get together and have some time to fellowship and kind of get away from things and the busyness of life and be able to focus on the Lord and on our relationships and friendships with each other to make us better for our families.”

Snyder added that Calvary Baptist Church is focused on providing a space where people can connect with each other and build their faith. He hopes the men’s retreat reminds participants that they are never alone, and they always have the support of the Calvary Baptist community.

“With the way things are in the world today, it’s even more important that we stay grounded in our faith and just always remember that there are others out there going through the same struggles that we are,” Snyder added. “We want to reach the community with the gospel and just try to make our community a better place. We want to make an impact where we are.”
