Jersey County Officer Bethany Krankel Completes Corrections Academy
The sheriff’s office highlighted Krankel’s completion of an intensive eight-week program designed to prepare officers for daily responsibilities inside correctional facilities.
JERSEYVILLE - Jersey County Correctional Officer Bethany Krankel has graduated from the Southwestern Illinois College Corrections Academy after completing an intensive eight-week program in corrections training, the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office said.

The program included training in defensive tactics, firearms and legal academics, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Jersey Sheriff's Office said the training is intended to prepare participants for the challenges and responsibilities of a career in corrections.
Krankel began working with the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office in 2023 as a part-time corrections officer. She later earned a full-time position as a correctional officer.
The sheriff’s office said Krankel has demonstrated “reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn and grow within the department.”
“We are proud to have Bethany as a member of the Sheriff’s Office and are confident she will continue to make a positive impact in her role,” the office said.
