Alabama Man Arrested In Calhoun County On Arkansas Parole Warrant, Weapons Charges

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said Kevin E. Breunig, 40, was stopped in Hardin on June 5 and later extradited to Arkansas on a parole warrant.

HARDIN — Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 40-year-old Alabama man on June 5, 2026, in Hardin after a traffic stop uncovered an active full-extradition parole warrant from the Arkansas Department of Corrections, according to a sheriff’s office press release.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said Sheriff Zachary T. Hardin and deputies conducted the traffic stop at approximately 2 p.m. on South Park Street in Hardin, Calhoun County.

Authorities identified the driver as Kevin E. Breunig, 40, of Harvest, Ala. The sheriff’s office said Breunig had an active full-extradition parole warrant of arrest from the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

After a search of the vehicle, Breunig was also charged with two counts of felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and driving while revoked, the sheriff’s office said.

Breunig was arrested without incident and transported to the Greene County Jail to await extradition.

The Arkansas Department of Corrections extradited Breunig to Arkansas on June 9, 2026, according to the Calhoun Sheriff's Office.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
