“I thought for a first game, we had pretty good possession at times and had a great attack at times in the second half,” CM coach Eric Zyung said.

The second half featured defense from both sides, with few scoring chances. Cowan added his second goal with 3:24 left in the game on an assist from Luke Gallivan to close out the scoring.

“The boys worked their butts off tonight on defense. Jude always rises to the occasion and finishes for us, and he did tonight,” Alton coach Toby Henesey said.
