Frisse began his career with the department as a patrol deputy on April 1, 2001, after previously serving as a police officer in Caseyville, East St. Louis, Shiloh and Alorton.

Frisse then returned to the patrol division and resumed his previous assignment.

The department said Frisse earned numerous awards and accolades for his performance during his years of service.

“Although Deputy Frisse never tested to become a supervisor or had a desire to hold this position, he has remained a very effective leader in our department, training countless officers by example of his work ethic and professional attitude,” the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

The department congratulated Frisse on his retirement.
