Kickoff Time Changed For Principia And Marquette Catholic

Marquette athletic director Brian Hoener announced the schedule adjustment, giving players and fans an extra half hour before the Sept. 4 meeting.

ALTON - The Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, football game between Principia and Marquette Catholic at Public School Stadium has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m. because of intense heat, Marquette athletic director Brian Hoener announced. The contest was originally supposed to start at 7 p.m.

Marquette Catholic enters the matchup 1-1 overall after a 36-16 home win over Dupo and a 25-21 loss to Red Bud. Marquette Coach Eric Dickerson said he hopes to have his team on track this week and was looking forward to a weeklong preparation for the contest against Principia after last Saturday’s loss.

Principia is 0-1 entering the Marquette Catholic game after losing 66-28 at Riverview Gardens on Aug. 29, 2026.

Marquette is scheduled to play at Aurora Central Catholic at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.
