Thursday starts warm and already a bit sticky, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s early. It will feel like the low 80s during the morning, but the day is off to a quiet start with a light east wind.

By afternoon, the heat takes over. Highs climb to about 98, with plenty of sunshine and just a 1% chance of rain. A southwest wind around 8 mph may gust to about 14 mph. It will feel like 103 at the hottest part of the day, so plan for a very hot stretch if you will be outside for long.

Thursday evening stays clear, warm and humid as temperatures ease back through the 80s after sunset. Winds turn lighter out of the south, and the dry pattern holds into the night.

Overnight, the low settles near 73 under clear skies. Humidity stays up, so it may still feel a little warmer than the air temperature at times before daybreak.

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday.

The allergy index is high for ragweed and moderate for grass.

Friday looks much the same, with a high near 98 and a low around 73. Expect another mostly sunny, very hot day, with ragweed staying a problem for allergy sufferers.
