Eva Steiniger is Big Part of East Alton-Wood River Community

EAST ALTON/WOOD RIVER - Eva Steiniger works hard to support others.

For her dedication, Eva Steiniger is a Fischer Lumber Student of the Month for East Alton-Wood River High School.

Steiniger, a senior, stays heavily involved at the high school. She plays soccer and cheerleads. She is the captain of the varsity soccer team.

She is also a member of the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service. It takes a lot of work to balance academics and athletics, but Steiniger does so gracefully.

In addition to her extracurriculars, Steiniger volunteers regularly as a Big Sister and member of the Student Council. She regularly advocates for her peers and underclassmen.

Outside of school, she is involved in her community as a member of the RiverBend Growth Association Young Adults Committee and LEAD. She is also a board member with the Wood River Business Alliance.

Steiniger even holds down a part-time job and attends a local youth group. Though she rarely has free time, she enjoys working out at the gym, shopping, and exploring new restaurants in St. Louis.

She has big plans for life after graduation. Her teachers and loved ones are sure she will continue to succeed.

“After graduation, I am planning to get my BSN at an undecided college,” she shared. “Once those four years are up, I plan to go work at a hospital for a couple of years at the ICU. Then, I am going to go back to college to get my doctorate in anesthesiology to become a CRNA.”
