Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Male Athlete Of Month: Three-Sport Standout Carter Watson Leads Southwestern Offense

PIASA — Carter Watson, a 6-foot-3 junior quarterback for the Southwestern Piasa Birds, has been recognized this season as an Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Male Athlete Of The Month after emerging as a leader on offense and contributing as a three-sport varsity athlete.

Watson is a mainstay for the Piasa Birds at quarterback and is also listed as a defensive end. He also plays varsity baseball and basketball for Southwestern. Last year, he completed 19 of 52 passes for 305 yards and two scores.

Pat Keith, the head Southwestern football coach, said Watson is an excellent athlete overall and has played three sports for the Piasa Birds.

Watson started for part of the season last year as a sophomore. This season, he has completed 8 of 17 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns.

“He throws the ball well and has continued to improve,” Keith said. “He is bigger and stronger this season with a year's experience. I look for him to have a good season.”
