ALTON - Gabriel Jinks makes a difference at his school.
For his hard work, Gabriel Jinks is a Hayner Public Library District Student of the Month for Alton High School.
Jinks is only a sophomore, but he has already proven himself as a valuable asset to the school community. He shows kindness to his peers and teachers and works hard every day in his classes.
He has participated on the cross country team and the track team for the past two years. He loves to run and spends a lot of his time perfecting his athletics.
It takes responsibility and dedication to balance sports and school, but Jinks makes this look easy. He understands the importance of academics and puts his best foot forward every day.
Jinks also makes it a priority to give back. He cares about helping and empowering others. He volunteers with the community garden and helps local community members in need.
In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing and playing laser tag. He knows exactly what he wants to do after high school. His teachers and loved ones know he will do a great job no matter what he chooses.
“[I am] going to get a job at Boeing as an engineer and [go to] college,” he shared.
Congratulations to Gabriel for this recognition by Alton High School and the Hayner Public Library District!
