Marquette Catholic’s girls volleyball team evened its overall record Thursday night, Sept. 3, 2026, with a 25-15, 25-22 regular-season win over Southwestern at Piasa.
The victory moved Marquette to 4-4 overall. Southwestern fell to 3-4.

Marquette resumes play at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, on the road against Carrollton, which is 6-1. Southwestern will entertain East Alton-Wood River on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
In other reported volleyball results, Roxana was defeated by Raymond Lincolnwood 25-22, 25-20. Hope Stewart-Sperry led Roxana with six kills, followed by Peyton Cincoski with four, Josie Brannon with three and Addison Boyer with one. Mia Skinner had 14 assists.
Roxana’s dig leaders were Boyer with four, Sophia Powers with three, and Cincoski and Skinner with two each. Cincoski had one block. Karysn Kamp and Brannon each had six service points; Skinner had three and Cincoski had two.
CARLINVILLE DEFEATS RIVERTON
Carlinville defeated Riverton 23-25, 25-15, 25-16. Ruthie Reels had 14 service points, five aces, seven kills and nine digs for Carlinville. Sylvee Gibbs added 12 service points, five aces, six kills and nine digs. Avery Davis had 12 assists, and Jada Barkley had 13 receptions.
Carlinville’s varsity team is 2-2. Riverton defeated Carlinville at the JV level, while Carlinville defeated Riverton at the frosh level.
JERSEY GIRLS FALL TO WATERLOO
Jersey Community’s freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams traveled to Waterloo to face the Bulldogs. The freshman team fell in three sets, the JV team lost in two sets, and the varsity Panthers were defeated 25-17, 25-15.
