Thursday starts cloudy and damp, with temperatures near 71 and a few leftover showers already around the area. Heavier rain and a thunderstorm are expected through the morning, so roads could turn sloppy in a hurry and low-lying spots may collect water. Rain chances stay high early, with light west winds near 6 mph and gusts up to 10 mph. It will feel a little warmer than the thermometer, closer to 74.

By afternoon, the steadiest rain backs off, but a passing shower is still possible as temperatures top out near 75. Skies stay mostly gray, and the cooler air will be noticeable compared with the last couple of days. If you are heading out later in the day, keep the umbrella close, but you should find longer dry breaks developing.
