From 5–7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, the Awana Club will kick off at Calvary Baptist Church. This is a completely free program for kids ages 2 to fifth grade. The Awana Club meets weekly from 5–7:15 p.m. on Sundays.

As part of Calvary’s mission to connect people to Christ and His church, Awana is designed to come alongside families and encourage children as they learn about Jesus. Weekly activities include Bible stories, games, crafts, music, snacks, recreation and Bible verse memorization.

The program also features several special events throughout the year, including the Christmas Slideshow Spectacular, a children’s Christmas musical scheduled for Dec. 13. In the spring, children will participate in a Grand Prix Race, where they will design and paint their own cars for a pinewood derby-style competition.

High-energy recreation games will be offered each week. Koda, a local therapy dog, also will join the group regularly. Children will have the opportunity to recite their completed Bible verses to Koda. Organizers said Koda is friendly, fully trained and hypoallergenic.

Children must be at least 2 years old by Dec. 1, 2025.

The program begins Sept. 13 and meets weekly from 5 to 7:15 p.m. Families with questions about the program or Koda’s participation may include them on their child’s registration form.

The Awana Club is completely free, though registration is required. To register, click here. For more information about Awana Club and Calvary Baptist Church, visit the church’s official website.
