Maryville Christian Tops Marquette Catholic For Fifth Straight Girls Volleyball Win

Maryville Christian outlasted Marquette Catholic in a three-set varsity volleyball match Friday night, improving to 7-1 after a tense finish in Alton.

ALTON - Maryville Christian kept its winning streak going Friday night, defeating Marquette Catholic’s varsity in three sets, 25-16, 28-30, 25-23, at Marquette Catholic. The win was Maryville Christian’s fifth consecutive victory and improved its season record to 7-1, while Marquette Catholic fell to 6-6.

Marquette forced a third set after taking the second, 30-28, but Maryville Christian closed out the match with a 25-23 win in the final set.

For Marquette, Alex Stephan had 10 serve receives and eight digs. Brooke Keller had 15 assists, Mia Moore had five kills and Remmi Copeland had eight kills.

Marquette’s JV team defeated Maryville Christian in two sets, 25-12, 25-14.

Maryville Christian hosts Valmeyer at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026. Marquette hosts Greenville at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
