ALTON - Marquette Catholic delivered two shutout victories in recent competition, beating Alton 3-0 in the latest city rivalry soccer match on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, as Parker Belchik scored twice and Eli Baggio added a goal, and rolling past Aurora Central Catholic 35-0 in Aurora, Illinois, behind a strong ground game and tough defense.

In football, the visiting Marquette Catholic Explorers of Alton, improved to 3-1 with the league win over the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers. The loss dropped Aurora Central Catholic to 0-4.

Marquette Catholic football next travels to Breese, Illinois, to face Mater Dei on Friday, Sept. 18. Mater Dei is 2-2 after a 54-29 league loss to Roxana.

Aurora Central Catholic next hosts Walther Christian Academy on Friday, Sept. 18. Walther Christian Academy is 0-3 after a 22-20 league loss to Westmont.
