Wesclin Sweeps To East Alton-Wood River Volleyball Crown
Marquette Catholic closed its tournament appearance on a winning note, defeating North Greene in straight sets to claim fifth place in Wood River.
WOOD RIVER - Wesclin won the championship of the East Alton-Wood River Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, taking the title with a 25-14, 25-13 victory in the championship match.
Jersey finished in fourth place after falling to Greenville, 25-15, 21-25, 15-11.

Marquette Catholic captured fifth place with a 25-14, 25-18 win over North Greene.
East Alton-Wood River took seventh place, defeating Cahokia 25-22, 25-18.
Myla Friederich of Wesclin was listed as the tournament MVP on the 2026 all-tournament team. Wesclin’s Haiden Mueller and Maura Wessel also made the team.
Greenville was represented by Maddie Beckert and Sara Woods. Jersey’s Alana Laird, Greenfield/Northwestern’s Adeline Lansaw and Lakely Albrecht also were listed on the all-tournament team.
