Boys Soccer Coach Sees Growth Despite Granite City Loss
Coach Rob Brooksher said his young Granite City squad showed resilience despite the loss, emphasizing corrections and renewed focus after a challenging Southwestern Conference matchup.
GRANITE CITY - Second-year Granite head coach Rob Brooksher his young team did play well against Edwardsville in a contest where the Warriors lost 4-0 at Granite City, but could have played a bit better, but also knew his team kept hanging in there and didn't surrender.

"It was a tough loss for us," Brooksher said. "We would have liked to play a little better, we played OK, there's just some things we could have done a little better, but we'll make those corrections."
Overall, things have gone well for the Warriors, despite the recent adversity.
"Overall, we played pretty well," Brooksher said. "We started out really strong, but we've had a little adversity this week that we're dealing with, and we're trying to move past that."
Brooksher's goals and ambitions for himself and the Warriors are mainly focused on the here and now.
"Well, for us, we'd like to get back on the winning track," Brooksher said, "and do the things that we're working on at practice, and what we've been working on all summer."
Despite the challenges, the coach is very happy to be back in the Southwestern Conference after being away for the past nine years.
"It sure is," Brooksher said. "It's been a challenge for us, but it's something new, and we're looking forward to it."
