Edwardsville Takes Second as McGinness Places Fourth In Boys Meet At SIUE
Several runners posted season-best performances in Edwardsville, including Joe Sperino, Jackson Rahn, Chase Cummins, Chris White and Logan Kearbey.

EDWARDSVILLE - Zack Miller led Parkway West, placing first in 16 minutes, 34.70 seconds. Peter McAllister was second in 16:37.90, and Xavier Merriman finished third in 16:44.00 in an Edwardsville Meet on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at the SIUE course. All three are seniors.
Parkway West used a 1-2-3 finish to win the team competition with 36 points, ahead of Edwardsville and Christian Brothers College
Edwardsville finished second with 64 points. Christian Brothers College was third with 70, followed by Mascoutah with 118 and Bethalto (Civic Memorial) with 191.
Parkway West also got a ninth-place finish from senior Chase Otto in 17:03.80. Its other listed scoring places were 21st, 23rd and 26th.
Edwardsville was led by junior Will McGinness, who placed fourth in 16:46.10. Jake Burris, a sophomore, was 11th in 17:12.00, and senior Colin Luitjohan was 13th in 17:24.60.
John Burroughs senior Joe Sperino finished fifth in 16:52.70, a season best. Christian Brothers College senior Michael Hamer was sixth in 16:54.10, followed by Benjamin Rahn, a sophomore, in seventh at 17:03.10 and senior Jackson Rahn in eighth at 17:03.70, also a season best.
Collinsville senior Chase Cummins placed 10th in 17:08.50, a season best. Mascoutah junior Chris White was 12th in 17:18.70, also a season best. Bethalto (Civic Memorial) senior Logan Kearbey was 14th in 17:25.00, a season best, and Collinsville senior Daniel Gutierrez-Trejo was 15th in 17:26.20, a personal best.
John Burroughs finished sixth in the team standings with 204 points. Belleville (East) was seventh with 215, St. Charles West was eighth with 219, Collinsville was ninth with 232 and Ft. Zumwalt West was 10th with 259.
Staunton placed 11th with 331 points, Springfield (Southeast) was 12th with 334, Dupo was 13th with 359, Gillespie was 14th with 363 and East St. Louis was 15th with 403
