When I’m 64 Festival Fills Fireman’s Hall With Beatles Fans
Everett Dean, Jimmy Strickland, close the night with memorable Beatles tribute performances.
PRAIRIETOWN - The Fab Lads led by Everett Dean and Whiskey River, guided by Jimmy Strickland, brought the show home at the Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, When I’m 64 Beatles Festival.
The annual show featured an all-day celebration of Beatles hits once again at Prairietown Fireman’s Hall from noon to 9 p.m. on Washington Street.
Dean’s band the Fab Lads Beatles tribute started in 2022, he said in an interview after his show. Dean is originally from Chicago but now lives in South St. Louis.
Dean said it is such an honor to play the Beatles fest in front of the die-hard Beatles fans from the Prairietown area.
“I love it,” Dean said. “I travel all over the country doing this, and I also have an Elvis show. I love doing the tribute shows. It’s like family here in Prairietown.”
Strickland closed the show with his band Whiskey River, and he said he, too, loves the Beatles tribute music and has been greatly inspired by Everett Dean and the Fab Lads.
“I have been to the When I’m 64 Beatles Festival four times,” Strickland said. “I love playing the music and the people who come here each year. It is a great festival.”
