BJ's Printables Female Athlete Of The Month: Jenkins Eyes Strong Finish For Metro-East Lutheran Volleyball
As her final high school campaign unfolds, Annika Jenkins is pushing for steady improvement and believes the Knights can still make meaningful gains.

EDWARDSVILLE — Annika Jenkins, a senior on the Metro-East Lutheran High School girls volleyball team, is looking for the Knights to turn three years of experience together into success during the 2026 season in Edwardsville.
“Our team has been together for three years, and we really are clicking together, and it’s showing a promising season,” Jenkins said.

Metro-East Lutheran has a 6-8 overall mark at this point in the volleyball season. Jenkins said the Knights have faced a challenging schedule.

“We are playing some hard teams,” Jenkins said. “We’re really putting in the work, so hopefully by the end of the year, it’s better than last season.”
Jenkins agreed that many of the difficult teams Metro-East Lutheran will face are in the Gateway Metro Conference, where the Knights are a charter member. As her senior season continues, Jenkins said she has goals she hopes to reach.
“It is my last season, so I’m really trying to put in as much work as I can,” she said.
Jenkins said she is considering playing in college, though that has not been determined.
She also said she remains hopeful about what the Knights can accomplish this season.
“I hope we win as much as we can,” Jenkins said. “I feel very confident in our team.”
