Kelsey Martlage Named Collinsville High School Softball Head Coach
The former collegiate player takes charge of the Kahoks with a focus on developing student-athletes, strengthening team culture and sharing her passion for softball.
COLLINSVILLE - Kelsey Martlage will lead Collinsville High School’s varsity softball program as its new head coach, bringing collegiate playing experience to a role focused on developing student-athletes and building team culture.

Kahok Athletics announced the appointment as Martlage begins her first season leading the Kahoks. Collinsville High School athletic director Clay Smith cited her playing background and ability to connect with student-athletes as strengths she brings to the program.
“We have a talented group of student-athletes who want to be challenged so they can reach their potential,” Smith said. “Kelsey has the passion for the game and the experience to help build the culture we want for Kahok softball.”
A native of St. Joseph, Illinois, and a graduate of St. Joseph-Ogden High School, Martlage played collegiately at Danville Area Community College before joining Greenville University. She also competed with the Midland Magic 18U Red travel softball program.
Martlage committed to Greenville in May 2024 and joined the Panthers as a junior utility player for the 2025 season. The 6-foot, right-handed player later transitioned to the infield while majoring in elementary education.
In a statement, Martlage expressed gratitude for the opportunity and said her goals include investing in the team each day and building a culture centered on hard work and strong mindsets.
“Softball has been a part of me for a very long time and I am excited to share my passion and love for the game with you all,” Martlage said.
Smith said Martlage’s experience and leadership would support the program’s development.
“Kelsey brings a tremendous playing background, a passion for the game of softball, and the opportunity to connect with our student-athletes in a meaningful way,” Smith said. “We believe her energy, knowledge and leadership will be tremendous assets to our program.”
