Marquette Catholic High School to Host Homecoming Block Party With One $50,000 Raffle Winner

ALTON - The community can celebrate Marquette Catholic High School’s homecoming and potentially win $50,000 at the Mega Raffle Homecoming Block Party.

From 6–10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, Marquette Catholic High School will host their annual Block Party outside the school while students enjoy the homecoming dance inside. Community members, families and alumni are invited to come by and join in the fun. The Mega Raffle winners will also be announced that night; you can still buy tickets to support the school and enjoy the chance to win $50,000.
“It is a big fundraiser for us, and we get so much love and support from our Marquette community and our alumni and our families and our past families and future families,” said Director of Development Mary Hough. “It’s just really great. It brings everybody together.”
On Sept. 26, Block Party attendees can enjoy music by The Yacht Rockers and more fun. OB Slices will provide pizza and drinks; this is cash only.
There will be several raffle winners announced throughout the evening, with prizes ranging from $250 to $5,000. The Mega Raffle winner will take home $50,000 at the end of the night.
Equally exciting, one student will win free tuition. Students who sell 10 Mega Raffle tickets earn one entry into the free tuition drawing.
You can purchase Mega Raffle tickets until 9:30 p.m. at the Block Party, or until 9 p.m. online that night. To purchase your tickets, click here. Mega Raffle tickets cost $50 each or you can get three for $100.
All proceeds from the raffle go toward supporting Marquette Catholic High School students. Hough and Principal Tim Harmon agreed that the fundraiser has a major impact on the school. They use the money to maintain the building and offer opportunities for students.
“It’s a great fundraiser for our school,” Hough said. “We’ve been doing it for a long time in varying ways, and it’s just a great way to help our high school and our school community. There’s all kinds of things that it goes to help support. It varies from year to year, but there’s so many needs right throughout the school year, directly to help our students and also our buildings and our just everyday infrastructure.”
Marquette Catholic High School offers many other upcoming opportunities to support the school, including an annual golf classic fundraiser on Oct. 9. From 6–8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, you can stop by Cugino’s in Florissant for an informational night, where incoming students and interested families can learn more about Marquette.
Harmon and Hough hope to welcome many people to these events as well as the Mega Raffle Homecoming Block Party on Sept. 26. They emphasized that Marquette Catholic High School is an important part of the Alton community, and the school’s family comes together to support one another at the Block Party and beyond.
“Everybody is accepted as part of the family,” Harmon said. “Whether you’re fourth generation, whether you’re first generation, the great piece about the family aspect of my job is that everybody’s accepted. It’s a really nice environment to be part of.”
