Against Payson Seymour, the opening set began evenly before Klaas delivered a 10-point serving run, including four aces, to give Calhoun a 22-8 lead. Kills from Pelletier and Riley Pohlman helped close out the set.
The Warriors built an early lead in the second set, with Pelletier contributing a nine-point serving run that included three aces. Calhoun maintained its advantage to finish the match.
“The girls played tough and consistently throughout the entire match, putting together a strong all-around performance,” Zipprich said.
Zipprich also credited the Warriors’ serving, defense, hitting and blocking in the victory.
Calhoun will finish the week at the Carlinville Tournament on Saturday.
