Madelyn Stone Dominates in Three Sports at East Alton-Wood River High School

EAST ALTON/WOOD RIVER - Madelyn Stone is an impressive student athlete.

For her accomplishments, Madelyn Stone is a Fischer Lumber Student of the Month for East Alton-Wood River High School.

Stone, a senior, plays volleyball, basketball and softball. It takes a lot of responsibility and hard work to balance one afterschool sport, let alone three. But Stone makes this look easy. She gives her all in every practice and game.

While athletics are important to her, Stone’s academics are equally vital. She is a member of the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service.

She works hard to keep her grades up and give back to her community. She serves others as a member of Big Sisters, which allows her to mentor younger students.

Though Stone stays busy, she always makes time for her family and friends. These relationships are important to her and will see her through the remainder of her high school career and beyond.

Stone knows exactly what she wants to do after graduation. Just like they always do, her loved ones and teachers will be rooting for her.

“I plan on going to college for nursing then being an ICU nurse to lead to being a flight nurse,” she shared.

Congratulations to Madelyn for this recognition from Fischer Lumber and East Alton-Wood River High School!
