Carlinville defeated Piasa Southwestern 25-20, 25-14 in a girls' volleyball matchup on Thursday night.

Carlinville's freshmen defeated Southwestern, but Southwestern beat the Cavies in 3 on JV.
MARQUETTE CATHOLIC 25-25, CHRIST OUR ROCK LUTHERAN 20-20
Marquette Catholic girls volleyball won in both JV and varsity matches at Christ Our Rock Lutheran on Thursday night. The Explorers varsity girls won 25-20, 25-20 both sets.
Explorers standouts included Alex Stephan and Sanaa Young with 6 digs apiece. Reese Bechtold, Camille Hampton, and Mia Moore all had four kills. Brooke Keller had 8 assists.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
In the results of the girls volleyball matches played on Thursday, Edwardsville won a close three-setter at Belleville West 25-18, 11-25, 25-20, it was Collinsville sweeping East St. Louis 25-14, 25-12, Freeburg defeated Civic Memorial 25-18, 25-20, Red Bud took a 25-16, 25-10 win over Trenton Wesclin, Belleville Althoff Catholic swept Metro-East Lutheran 25-19, 25-17, Columbia won over Waterloo 25-20, 20-25-25-17, Breese Mater Dei Catholic won a three-set thriller over Mascoutah 26-24, 20-25, 25-15, and M. Vernon swept Highland 25-19- 25-21.
BOYS SOCCER
TRIAD 3, COLUMBIA 0: Parker Benson, Jacob Buchtel, and Chase Wiesenmeyer scored the goals as Triad shut out Columbia at Knights Field.
Damien Jordan made two saves in goal for the Knights to record the clean sheet, as Triad improves to 13-2-2, while the Eagles drop to 17-2-2.
OTHER SCORES
In the other games on Thursday's slate, Freeburg won over Lebanon 6-2, Waterloo Gibault Catholic slipped past Metro-East Lutheran 1-0, Carlinville shaded Jersey 2-1, Waterloo blanked Alton 4-0, Highland won over Civic Memorial 4-1, and O'Fallon stopped Granite City 6-1.
JERSEY ATHLETICS
JCHS JV/V Soccer hosted Carlinville. The JV Panthers earned a 2-1 victory over the Cavaliers, with goals from Drilon Zenku and Jackson Weishaupt. The Varsity Panthers fell just short, 2-1, with Michael Vogel scoring the Panther goal.
JCHS Tennis hosted the Cahokia Conference Tournament, where the Lady Panthers swept all three doubles flights, capturing first place in each. Singles competition will take place Saturday in Centralia.
JCMS Girls Basketball traveled to Lewis and Clark, where both teams earned victories! The 7th-grade Lady Panthers won 31-13, led by Sophia Kirsch with 12 points and Quincy Crotchett with 11. The 8th-grade team also picked up a win with a final score of 26-23.
