Roberts encourages applicants to be bold and detailed in their essay responses regarding academic goals, career goals and financial need to help them stand out.
The scholarship program offers over 200 scholarships each year for a total monetary value of $750,000. Scholarships vary in amount, but almost half cover full tuition and fees for a full-time student. This initiative aims to support and empower students of all ages, backgrounds, and academic abilities who are interested in continuing their education through LC’s degrees and programs.
The available scholarships are provided by LC’s Board of Trustees as well as generous donations from the community to the Lewis and Clark Community College Foundation.
Each scholarship has its own set of qualifications, which include, but are not limited to, degree, town or county of residence, academic success, volunteer activity, status as a non-traditional student, etc. Every student can be a scholar at LC.
“The college is fortunate to be able to provide scholarships as a form of financial support for students who may face financial barriers when choosing to pursue higher education,” said LC President Ken Trzaska. “That is why supporting the Scholarship program is an important aspiration of our strategic plan.”
