GODFREY — Campaign signs can have a destination other than the trash after election season. The Village of Godfrey is participating in a special recycling event Nov. 4-9, 2026, to help keep recyclable sign materials out of the waste stream.

Signs and metal bases can be dropped off at LaVista Park, 2421 W. Delmar Ave. in Godfrey, from dawn to dusk, or at IBEW Local 649, 3945 Humbert Road in Alton, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Village of Godfrey said highly corrugated plastic signs will be accepted, and they must be free of stickers.
