Two Westbound I-55/I-64 Lanes to Close for Bridge Repairs in St. Clair County

EAST ST. LOUIS – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced an upcoming lane closure on westbound Interstate 55/I-64/U.S. 40 between Illinois 3 and the Poplar Street Bridge in St. Clair County for bridge repairs.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, two westbound mainline lanes will be closed at this location. The two outer lanes and ramps will remain open during the closure.

All lanes are expected to reopen on or before 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, remain alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
