The day prior on Oct. 25, Howell allegedly drove a motor vehicle on West County Road at Miller Lake Drive while under the influence of alcohol. He also allegedly spat in the face of a Jersey County Sheriff’s Deputy, “refused to walk upon being taken into custody and had be carried into [the] Jersey County Jail,” according to charging documents.
On the same day, Howell reportedly threatened multiple deputies with a series of statements including “I’m coming for you,” and “I’m coming for your life … your (families’ lives) … all your lives, or I will kill you.”
Howell was charged in two prior Jersey County felony cases, including one from Aug. 7, 2026 of aggravated battery and criminal property damage and another from Aug. 13, 2026 of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. He had been released from custody pending trial in both cases, but a judge ordered his pretrial release to be revoked after these latest offenses.
On Nov. 2, 2026, Howell was ordered released on recognizance and placed under a GPS Electronic Monitoring order. His next court hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Nov. 16, 2026 at the Jersey County Courthouse.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
