2 New Edwardsville Firefighters Sworn In
Pair of probationary firefighters take Oaths of Office as Edwardsville Fire Department marks latest personnel expansion.

EDWARDSVILLE – The Edwardsville Fire Department welcomed two new members on Tuesday night.
Brandon Hoguet and Jake Hildenbrand were both officially sworn in as probationary firefighters at the Dec. 2, 2025 City Council meeting.
City Clerk Michelle Boyer administered the Oaths of Office for both of the city’s newest probationary firefighters. Hoguet’s young son clung tightly to his father’s side as he took his oath, and both he and Hildenbrand took photos with city officials and family members to applause from attendees shortly after being sworn in.
The City of Edwardsville further welcomed the two in a social media announcement the following morning.
“We never get tired of these scenes and opportunities to welcome new members who step up to serve our community in such a vital and important way,” the city announced. “Welcome to Firefighters Hildenbrand and Hoguet and thank you for your commitment to the Edwardsville Fire Department!”
This marks the second personnel addition for the Fire Department in recent weeks. At the last City Council meeting on Nov. 18, 2025, Jacob Hatcher was sworn in as the department’s newest firefighter and paramedic, while longtime Firefighter Joey Cruz was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
