Aiden Willis Shows Dedication and Hard Work at Father McGivney Catholic High School

GLEN CARBON - Aiden Willis knows exactly what he wants, and he’s not afraid to go after it.

For his determination, Aiden Willis is a Student of the Month for Father McGivney Catholic High School.

Willis, a senior, has played baseball since his freshman year and currently serves as the team captain. He also plays Illinois Tigers Club baseball. It takes a lot of responsibility to balance academics and athletics, but Willis makes this look easy. He has received academic letters and maintained his place on the high honor roll.

He was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service. He gives back in several capacities and has accumulated over 125 service hours over the past few years.

This year, Willis joined the Edwardsville CEO program and became a house leader and House Captain of Activities at Father McGivney. He advocates for himself and his classmates in these roles. He also became a Fraternity as One mentor recently and enjoys working with underclassmen.

Outside of his extracurriculars, Willis works part-time and enjoys hunting. He spends a lot of time training for baseball and hanging out with his family. He enjoys watching SIUE Cougars basketball and won the Father McGivney Varsity Basketball Toughness Award himself as a sophomore.

Willis has big plans for his future. Just like they always do, his loved ones and teachers will be cheering him on through it all.

“I plan on moving to central Florida; my family is relocating to this area,” he shared. “I plan on attending college and studying construction management at school in or near Florida. I am looking forward to this next chapter of my life.”
