On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Alton VFW Post #1308 will offer a St. Patrick’s Day meal and DJ. The meal starts at 1 p.m. and costs $10 a plate for corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, carrots and horseradish. DJ Tommy will perform from 4–8 p.m. Community members are invited to join the VFW for a fun celebration.

“We’re hoping to have a good time,” said Becky Willmore with the VFW. “We haven’t done it for a couple years, so we thought we’d just do something for everybody.”

Willmore explained that the proceeds from the meal will go toward the VFW’s initiatives. The organization works closely with veterans and often collaborates with the larger community to provide resources to those in need. At the Alton Post, they have a sizable food pantry in addition to scholarship programs for local kids.

The VFW also hosts a bar, gaming machines, free pool and dart machines, and more. It’s not only a place to spend time, but an opportunity to support local veterans and community members.

Willmore and her team hope to welcome many people on March 17 to enjoy the meal and the DJ. She emphasized that their work and service is important. She wants people to enjoy the celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day while supporting what they do at Alton VFW Post #1308.

“The more, the merrier,” she added.
