Angel Young and Art Fahrner.ALTON - The most recent Remarkable Redbird, senior Angel Young, thinks of herself as a quiet type but as a face that fellow students like seeing around. Angel was nominated for the Remarkable Redbird Award for November 2025 by teacher Ms. Bridget Heck for everything she has done as a student and as a student assistant for her classroom.

Angel is always willing to help Ms. Heck with getting the Advanced Photography room set up in getting mice ready for other students to use for digital editing. Angel feels as though it is a privilege to be in the class and wants to do whatever she can to help since there is an aspect of clean up and maintenance with being in photography classes.

She also feels strongly about cleaning up after yourself and takes a lot of pride in making sure the classroom is ready for her and other students.

Angel feels as though she has learned quite a bit from Ms. Heck, who she says "has fostered her ability to be creative and always encourages her to take photos and even add props to some of her submissions for classwork." She has said Ms. Heck "wants you to keep your eyes open for things you might see."

Angel is also excited about an upcoming mirroring project that Ms. Heck has assigned, where, when you are looking at one thing, another overlaps to create a bigger image in an eye-catching way. Included with this article is a submission of Angel's classwork that was on display outside of the photography classroom earlier this school year.

She hopes to find a position in digital design or some other creative path to showcase her talents upon completion of her academic career.
