EDWARDSVILLE - Metro East Lutheran battled to the end of a contest against Meridian but dropped the battle 62-30 on Thursday night, Sept. 17, 2026, at MELHS.

MELHS quarterback Ben Schilbe tossed three touchdown passes in the game.

Isaak Broekemeier had two touchdown receptions and Lee Watson snared a touchdown for another score for the Knights. Watson also ran a touchdown in for a touchdown.

Bryce Brown, the Meridian quarterback, completed 14 of 25 passes for 311 yards and six touchdowns and was the standout in the game.

Meridian improved to 5-0 with the win; MELHS dropped to 3-1.

Meridian led 20-0 at the end of the first quarter, then 47-8 at the half, 54-22 after three quarters, and 62-30 after the final period.
