Centreville, IL., Records Highest Snowfall in Region This Weekend With 10.5 Inches

Columbia, Collinsville, and Edwardsville report snowfall between 8.5 and 9.5 inches following a severe weekend storm.

CENTERVILLE - Centreville, Illinois, recorded the highest total from weather watchers this past weekend at 10.5 inches, according to Marshall Pfahler, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Centreville is a community in St. Clair County.

Nearby communities in Illinois also saw substantial snowfall: Columbia received 9.5 inches, Collinsville and Edwardsville each reported 8.5 inches, Granite City had 7.8 inches, Swansea measured 7.7 inches, and Godfrey reported 7.3 inches.

An official total from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport registered 8.2 inches.

In Missouri, snowfall amounts varied across the St. Louis metropolitan area. Most of the city and county experienced between 7 and 9 inches of snow. Specific locations included Maplewood with 9.7 inches and St. Louis city itself, reporting 9 inches of snowfall.

The snowfall, which occurred earlier this week, affected various communities in Illinois and Missouri, with accumulations ranging from just over seven inches to more than 10 inches.

These snowfall totals highlight the widespread impact of the winter storm on the region, with many communities experiencing heavy snow accumulation. The data was provided by the National Weather Service office in St. Louis to inform residents and officials as they continue recovery and cleanup efforts.
