From 9–11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, you can stop by Embark Wealth Partners at 5231 Mae Drive, Suite A, in Godfrey. There will be a truck from Shred-It shredding documents onsite. People are also asked to bring a toy donation for Toys for Tots. The goal, explained Terri Schneider and Casta Zippmann, is to serve the community in more ways than one.

“It’s a community giveback for community giveback,” joked Schneider. “Last year, we collected almost three full boxes of toys in a two-hour period of time, which was absolutely phenomenal. The community showed up. We’re hoping for the same thing this year.”

The truck will be parked in the Embark Wealth Partners parking lot. There will be people there to help you unload your documents, and you can watch them be shredded if you’d like.

Zippmann, who works in the office at Embark Wealth Partners, conceptualized the event a few years ago. A lot of clients had mentioned to her that they needed to shred important documents. She thought the business could help the community by providing a shred event.

Schneider regularly fundraises for Toys for Tots through Little Black Book, a local organization for women in business. Zippmann and Schneider decided to take the shred event a step further by incorporating Toys for Tots.

“Why not put those two together and give back to the community?” Zippmann said. “I’m a mom, and the economy just keeps getting harder and harder to live in. There’s plenty of children out there who don’t have anything come Christmastime, and that is something that breaks my heart. I hope that we can really give back a lot and help all the children in the community have a good Christmas.”

People are asked to bring new, unwrapped, unopened toys to donate. While this is not a requirement to shred your documents, it would be “absolutely amazing” if you can donate, the duo said. They hope to collect four boxes of toys this year.

It’s important to the team at Embark Wealth Partners to give back to the community like this. Schneider is a financial advisor with a designation as a certified divorce financial analyst, meaning she specializes in helping those going through a divorce. She and her colleagues help people manage their finances; this event is just another way for them to help the community.

Zippmann and Schneider hope the event on Oct. 10 brings people together and helps those in need. They remind people that Embark Wealth Partners is available to those who need their services. Mostly, they hope the shred event is a fun, helpful way for people to dispose of important documents while giving back.

“That’s the part we like most about this event, being able to see how much we’re giving back to the children and the community,” Zippmann added. “We’ll be out there helping everybody get rid of their old papers and hopefully giving back to the community with toys.”
