Wednesday starts mostly clear and quiet, with temperatures in the mid-50s around sunrise. A light north wind at about 3 mph keeps the early air moving, but it stays calm enough for a comfortable start if you are heading out early.

By late morning and into the afternoon, clouds will mix in with sunshine as the temperature climbs to a high near 71. It will be a nice, mild day overall, with a small 25% chance of rain that looks too limited to cause much trouble. Winds stay light out of the north-northeast at about 7 mph, with occasional gusts near 20 mph adding a little extra breeze.

During the evening, skies turn partly cloudy and temperatures ease back through the 60s. The breeze backs off, making for a smooth night for outdoor plans, errands or a walk after dinner.

Overnight, expect partly cloudy skies and a low around 57. Conditions stay dry, with light northeast winds near 5 mph.

The allergy index leans high today because of ragweed, while grass, mold and tree pollen remain low.

Thursday brings a high near 72 and a low around 59, with a pleasant mix of clouds and sun and no meaningful rain expected.
