ALTON - The Alton Police Department on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, recognized George and Donna Salof for what it described as their continued generosity and support of the department and the Alton community.

George and Donna are definite Difference Makers in their community.

Alton Police Chief Jarrett Ford said the Salofs have supported numerous Alton Police Department projects and initiatives over the years.

"Their contributions have helped strengthen the new police range, the department’s K-9 Program, support a variety of department initiatives, and provide resources aimed at enhancing officer safety and the services delivered to Alton residents," Chief Ford said. "Community support makes a difference. George and Donna, thank you for your friendship, generosity and support. Your investment in our department and our community is deeply appreciated."

Chief Ford said partnerships between community members and law enforcement can help advance shared goals.

“Partnerships like these demonstrate what can be accomplished when dedicated community members and law enforcement work together toward a common goal,” he said. “Their continued support helps us build a stronger department and a safer community.”
